VICTORIAN EASTLAKE PLANT STAND HAND CARVED DEER HEAD STAG TABLE BLACK FOREST
a gorgeous late 1880's (19th century) Eastlake 3-legged plant stand, with an attached ornate carved deer head, along with typical Eastlake style carving and tooling on the leg decorations.
This tall smaller diameter table is quite unique, and a beautiful piece of Victorian furniture.
The wood is a darker variety, and believed to be walnut or mahogany?
It is a very sound and stable piece.
It has a wonderful hand carved deer stag / buck or elk head applied at the curve of the stand. The detail of the fanned East lake carved tripod legs is very delicate and a wonderful accent.
The table top has a lipped edge, attached at a ball and socket junction at the table post.
The origin of this fabulous plant stand is not known for certain. It also has an appearance representative of black forest Germany workmanship.
