condition: good
make / manufacturer: MILLER
model name / number: CHAMPION 6 LEVER
size / dimensions: 2.25" ROUND 1/2" THICK
$33 CHAMPION 6 LEVER PADLOCK. USED – ANTIQUE
THIS SOLID BRASS PADLOCK IS FROM THE MILLER LOCK COMPANY IN PHILADELPHIA. MILLER MADE LOCKS FROM THE 1800’S UNTIL THE COMPANY WAS SOLD TO YALE IN THE 1930’S SO THIS LOCK IS ABOUT 100 YEARS OLD. IT STILL WORKS FINE. KNOWLEDGABLE COLLECTORS REFER TO THIS AS A “LEFT PIN” STYLE LOCK DUE TO A VISIBLE PIN OR RIVET ON THE FRONT FACE OF THE LOCK (above the letter H).

IN THIS UNUSUAL TYPE OF LOCK THE KEY IS PUSHED INTO THE BOTTOM OF THE LOCK. THE “6 LEVER” DESIGINATION REFERS TO THE NUMBER OF PINS IN THE LOCK THAT MUST MATCH THE KEY.

THE LOCK HAS “PATENT PENDING” STAMPED INTO THE SHAKLE.

THE TWO KEYS THAT CAME WITH THE LOCK ARE UNUSUAL. BOTH OPEN THE LOCK, BUT ONE IS STAMPED “MILLER LOCK CO PHILIDELPHIA” AND THE OTHER IS STAMPED “MILLER LOCK CO PHILIDELPHIA USA”. ADDITIONALLY THE KEYS ARE MADE AS MIRROR IMAGES OF EACH OTHER – ONE OF THE KEYS, WHEN INSERTED INTO THE LOCK, WILL HAVE THE FINGER-HOLE OF THE KEY TOWARD THE FRONT OF THE LOCK. THE OTHER KEY WILL HAVE THE FINGER-HOLE TOWARD THE BACK.

$22 ANTIQUE STERLING PADLOCK PROBABLY FROM 1920’S OR 1930’S.

THE LOCK MAY WELL WORK BUT THE KEY INCLUDED IS NOT THE KEY THAT UNLOCKS IT AND IS INCLUDED FOR DISPLAY ONLY.

$3 BRAND NEW NEVER OPENED MASTER 22-D PADLOCK WITH 2 KEYS. THE LOCK IS IN PERFECT SHAPE ALTHOUGH THE PACKING IS NOT.
