We have available a furnished hot tent (a year round tent that can accommodate a woodstove which is provided in winter) - two doors, skylights, windows - fits a full size bed, a small couch and a small dining table and chair and mini fridge. This furnished tent is available for $15 a night. Stays of 30 days or longer will enjoy a reduction in space lease (this site only). Long term stays may also negotiate the use of a generator (that we provide).
Also available are two (2) RV spaces AND Two (2) tent spaces. These sites are all off-grid on a hobby farm that backs up to Daniel Boone National Forest. Sites are located back in the woods for someone with a camper, RV, travel trailer, tent, camper van, etc. (no larger than 30 feet - sorry, we are not set up for huge, tour bus type RVs). $10 per day.
There is an off grid shower house that has a Nature's Head composting toilet, a foot pump single basin sink and a tub/shower combo with tankless hot water heater.* (the shower has not yet been "de-winterized" but will be soon). There is a swimming pool (available after June 1st), screened in gazebo with table and chairs and a community fire pit and grill.
The farm is located in Frenchburg, KY (Please do your own Google Search of the area to see where it is and what it is close to – please do not contact me asking me how far away it is from some other location). It is within a short driving distance from Cave Run Lake and Red River Gorge. This is a working farm so you MUST be OK with livestock and dogs. If you are not comfortable with them, this is NOT a good fit for you.
The property itself is just two parcels away from the end of a dead end road. The road from the old tobacco barn on the property to the campsite winds down through the forest via a hard packed dirt road; usually easily traversed by car or truck, although 4WD is definitely a bonus. Lots of ice, snow or rain can sometimes be challenging without 4WD (or you may park up at the barn and walk down to your site)
This is OFF GRID - there are NO hook-ups to the campsites. There is water available at the barn (at the road). You must be self-contained - you supply your own power via solar or generator.
Pets are welcome.
There MAY be an opportunity for reduction in space lease if you are willing to help out on the farm. This is NOT guaranteed.
